Major version update — Luigi Version 4 released
New Feature Highlights:
* Big updates to Admin experience in Roles and Activities
Most Luigi administrators spend most of their time in the Roles and Activities tabs of a Project. We’ve now rolled out a new interface for these tabs with a lot of usability improvements. The new interface is clearer to read, more uniform with the recent graphical updates in Luigi, and opens the door to new future features for your Project workflow.
Among the new features:
* Redesign of the interface for desktop and mobile
* Better support for large pieces with many roles
* Complete logging of changes in status in Roles, and logging of admin changes in Activities
*New Feature: Vendor/Renter/Contractor Contracts that don’t require a Luigi account. Why might you want this feature? Many vendors and institutions do not want or need to use a Luigi account to work with your organization. This features allows you to issue and sign contracts with folks outside of your organization. Contract invitations and signing takes place with email links, and the contracts are accessible to contractees and your admins after the contracts are signed.
*New Feature: Add Vendors/Contractors to Activities
You can add additional personnel who are not Luigi account-holders to projects by attaching them to Projects. This feature will expand soon with the ability to add additional personnel to Roles to simplify scheduling. Additional personnel show up on Calendars.
*New Feature: Redesign of Parts tab with many new features
The new Parts tab gives users a lot more information, including a calendar display of their parts assignments.
*Drawn Signatures for Digital Signing of Contracts
You can now draw signatures in Contracts. Drawn signatures can be made “required” in System Settings. Drawn signatures show up on final Contract documents for both users and administrators.
Other Changes and Fixes:
Complete redesign of Budget, Production, Travel, and Status tabs in Projects

New Features:
* Time Zone support. Major new features to support timezones for Projects and Activities across Luigi and in Google Calendar.
* Location Calendar Color Support. The Locations calendar makes room and venue management a breeze. You can also customize colors in the calendar view.
* Big performance improvements. Major changes were made to the database to show some tables like Activities much more quickly. This will be immediately noticeable when loading large projects, and will allow for projects with dozens or hundreds of Activities to be loaded without a major delay.
* Group Administration, update to Version 2: Group administration in the sidebar has been updated to a better interface. Groups are used to create and manage categories of users, such as “Cellos” or “Stage Managers” or “Rental clients,” and they are selectable in Roles “Personnel Group” at the point of adding new Roles to a Project.
* Additions to System Settings customizations: A lot of organization customizations have been added in System Settings. This video demonstrates some of the additions.
* Daily Calendar Roles feature: The display of Roles can now be added to Daily Calendars.
* Bug Fix: Contract fee extra characters. A bug allowed non-numerical characters in the Contracts, this has been fixed.
* Bug Fix: Scaling. Some areas of the site were not scaling correctly for mobile or on desktop, this has been fixed.
* Bug Fix: Large file uploads. I’ve increased the size of file uploads to allow larger documents/headshots/forms to be uploaded successfully.
* Bug Fix: Piece Library documents. I’ve fixed a bug preventing the addition of some media links and “Additional Documents” added to the piece library.
Coming soon:
* Customizations for international date/time formats. International support for Luigi is coming to allow dates and times to be customized for your location.
* More system settings. More settings are being added for new personnel — require users to put information in their profile before logging in. Support for “Company” information in Personnel.
