Many backend changes

Many changes this month to make things FASTER and more responsive.

Big changes to the Piece Library

A new piece wizard has been added that streamlines adding and editing pieces. The wizard is available for testing now by clicking Add Piece under Search Pieces in the sidebar, and next week the sidebar will be consolidated so that you’ll just see two entries, Pieces and Composers.

Improvements to Search Events

Improvements have been made to the search engine to make the results of searching for past events more clear. A bug was also fixed where searching between two dates would also show “past events.”

Add to Group on User Creation

This function continues our efforts to make on-boarding easier for new users. When you create a user, you can now add them to a Group right away. As you know, groups are created and managed in the sidebar under Group Administration.

A reminder of Groups — as an example, you may create a Group (use the “Select” type) called Violins. Then, you can add violinists to this group and order them as you like. Now, on the Events —> Roles tab, you can select the Violins group, and your violinists will be the first people displayed as you go to assign roles. This can be a big time-saving feature for organizations with big rosters

Coming Soon:

More Improvements to the Library

In Roles, you will be able to click on pieces from within the Events tab and edit them directly which will improve the workflow!

New Contracting workflow possibilities

A new feature will be added to the Contract window called “post-contract email.” This will allow you to create templates that will optionally automatically send an email to users after they sign their contracts. This post-contract email can be used to give users more context about the event or to give them information they need to know to get paid for a project.

Updates to the rehearsal scheduler matrix

The schedule matrix that pops up when you add an Activity can be a valuable tool, but it still displays in an older version 1 format. I’m updating this so that it has a cleaner look for mobile and desktop, and better functionality within the site.
